About Mr Anthony
Anthony Osei-Owusu, (Tony) he prefers to be called, is a husband and a father of four (4) boys. Jeremy, Elijah, Zechariah and Ezekiel. Tony believes in family values like most parents do. Tony opted to spend more time with his family than to accept professional positions that would interfere with bringing up his children. Tony graduated from the prestigious leadership training, called GOLD program (Growth Opportunity and Leadership Development) by ConEdison, his current employer. After graduating from the program he decided to take a position that will let him spend more time with his family and it has been so for the past 12 years.
Tony is a control systems engineer, currently working in power plants, generating electricity and steam for the Greater New York region. He has about 24 years of working experience ranging from Satellite Communication Engineering, Wireless Local Loop (WLL) Communication Engineering and Control Systems Engineering. Tony during his long career has the opportunity to meet other people from other countries.
Tony speaks very well of the countries he visited when duty called. Including but not limited to Canada, Israel, Morocco, Benin, Central African Republic, Burkina-faso and Cameroon. One thing he remembers is the warm welcome given to him by employees of SpaceCom in Mohammedia, Morocco. Tony was there at this point in his career to install a satellite network (VSAT, Very Small Aperture Terminal) from Gilat Satellite network in Tel-Aviv Israel for the first time for SpaceCom to be able to provide services for its customers. He loved the fish in Mohammedia. Almost everyday he ate fish for lunch. Mohammedia happens to be located at the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
Tony has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical Engineering from State University of New York (SUNY), Maritime College with honors. He also has a Higher Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Ghana Maritime Academy, now Ghana Maritime University. Tony also has a Full Technology Certificate in Telecommunications Technology from City & Guilds of London Institute. Tony has couple of certifications including, Cisco (CCNA, CCNP-BSCI), Microsoft, (MCP), CompTIA, (Network+, A+).
Tony is a religious person, and his inspiration is drawn from Jesus Christ’s compassion for the poor. For there is no joy greater than bringing hope to the poor and those in need. Tony believes AFriHep has given the platform to reach a larger population.
Tony enjoys listening to Country Music and Christian Music.
